In 1993, Jim and Adell got married and went on the road as Factory Representatives for a local manufacturer of folding chairs and soft-sided coolers.  At that time, the products were actually produced in a factory building in East Tennessee!  Jim and Adell traveled to special events such as boat shows, sports shows, car shows, air shows, state fairs, and even some flea markets.  At these events, they set up booths and offered these products to individual consumers.

Back then, when people would watch the demonstration of how easily the chairs folded and fit into a carry bag, they would be amazed.  Part of our “pitch” as we sold to a crowd of onlookers was to explain that the chairs would hold 500 pounds; which would always cause people to chuckle and remark how unnecessary that was. 

Way back then, we realized this type of compact folding chair would replace the old aluminum lawn chairs most people used at outdoor events such as picnics, sporting events, camping, fishing…..and just about anything else you can think of that is done outside.   We saw this type of compact folding chair becoming an icon for the new millennium.

As the product recognition grew, so did the interest in mass production.  The laws of supply and demand, and profit margins meant large retail outlets had to supply the demand cheaply.  While selling face-to-face to our customers at events, Jim and Adell had the opportunity to hear the comments and complaints that people made regarding the products being offered.  They realized there was a demand that wasn’t being met.
